Mittleman named APS Fellow
ECE Professor and Smalley Institute Interim Faculty Director, Daniel Mittleman, has been elected to Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) for his contributions to the understanding of the ultrafast optical properties and terahertz spectroscopy of materials and the investigation of new techniques for imaging and spectroscopic measurements using terahertz radiation.
Election to Fellowship in the American Physical Society is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the membership, and is recognition by their peers and of their outstanding contributions to physics. Dan's name and Fellowship citation will be published in the March 2014 issue of APS News.
Mittleman's research interests involve various aspects of spectroscopy, sensing, and imaging using terahertz radiation. Dr. Mittleman is also Fellow of the Optical Society of America and of the IEEE.
