|Product development is an inherently risky and expensive activity at any company, but bootstrapping development while trying to grow a company from scratch is especially daunting. In this talk he will share some experiences and insights from Park Assist's journey from founding in 2007 to being acquired in 2013, and highlight one strategy for mitigating technology risk that they found to be particularly useful.
Ilan Goodman is the CTO of Park Assist, a New York based company on a mission to tame the parking garage. After getting his PhD in electrical engineering from Rice University in 2010, and despite working for a parking company, Ilan gave away his car and moved to NYC. Though he now owns a car, he still prefers working with them on a theoretical basis.
