Connexions: University and Industry Collaboration for Open-Access Education

This presentation will discuss the many collaborations between National Instruments (NI) and the Rice University Connexions program to enhance open-access engineering education. The presentation will include demonstrations of new technology NI is developing for its LabVIEW software product specifically designed for Connexions and aimed at enhancing the interactivity and multimedia capability of the Connexions online curriculum delivery model. Additional topics will include future research interests for online interactive mathematics notation and delivery through the NSF Partners for Innovation program, as well as NI's use of Connexions for development and delivery of its industry-centric Customer Education curriculum.

Jim Cahow is the Academic Resources Manager at National Instruments where he helps manage and direct NI efforts in engineering education by overseeing areas such as curriculum development, technical marketing, and product development strategy for NI software products such as LabVIEW.
