Review of Research Interests and a Look into the Future

This presentation first summarizes past projects, which include high-level IC power modeling and optimization with an emphasis on interconnects, energy analysis of mobile device user interfaces, mobile device power management based on human factors, and synthesis of resonant-tunneling diodes (RTDs) based circuits. The talk then presents several ongoing projects in collaboration with AT&T Labs and Microsoft Research: energy-aware multimedia messaging for mobile users, RFID-based location service with privacy protection, and Smart-phone-based body sensor networks and its user interfaces. It also outlines our interest in computing based on nanotechnologies, especially carbon nanotubes.
