Stanley C. Moore Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Director, Laboratory for Nanophotonics.
Professor of Biomedical Engineering.
Professor of Chemistry.
Professor of Physics and Astronomy.

Research Interests:
Nanoengineering, Plasmonics, Nanophotonics. She has received the "Cancer Innovator" Award from the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs of the U. S. Department of Defense. Professor Halas was recently named a National Security Science and Engineering Faculty Fellow by the Department of Defense and has been named Associate Editor of Nano Letters. In 2009, Professor Halas became a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.  She is also Fellow of the American Physical Society,  the Optical Society of America, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the SPIE (The International Society for Optical Engineering), and the IEEE (Institute of  Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
