Affiliated Research Institutes Rice has embarked on a planned program of significant research and faculty growth. The undergraduate population will remain static while the graduate program will grow in step with the needs of expanding research programs and faculty.
To provide direction to this growing research program, several research institutes and centers were formed with the intent of fostering an interdisciplinary research environment in areas of current strength. These institutes and centers include the Ken Kennedy Institute for Information Technology (K2I), the Rice Quantum Institute (RQI), the Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST), the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering (IBB), and the Keck Center for Computational Biology.
