The Rice chapter of IEEE is a student organization dedicated to informing ECE students of what is going on in the department, preparing the undergrad ECE majors for life "beyond the hedges," encouraging freshmen and sophomores to major in Electrical Engineering, and creating a greater sense of community among the ECE students. We will have weekly lunches for the ECE undergrads with informal talks by professors, graduate students, and industry speakers. We will provide the ECE undergrads with a periodic newsletter with articles on research, careers, and the ECE degree process. We will also host presentations by companies interested in recruiting Rice ECE undergrads.
Becoming an IEEE member is easy. You can register online through IEEE. You can also contact any of the officers or faculty advisors for more information. Industry representatives and faculty members who are interested in giving a talk, writing an article, or contributing to IEEE events, can contact President CJ Steuernagel and Vice Presidents Blake Brogdon and Naren Anand.
