August 2nd to 7th, 2009 - The Rice LSG participates in the MIRTHE Summer Workshop '09. Dr. Anatoliy Kosterev gave a lecture on the fundamentals of QEPAS, and Jim Doty recieved a commendation for "significant research contributions during the academic year."

June to August 2009 - The Rice Laser Science Group hosted Sidney Malack from Binghamton University. He helped develop a minuature multipass pass cell for the detection of a CO2.
