Mark A. Davenport

Mark Davenport is a Ph.D student in the Digital Signal Processing Group at Rice University. He received the B.S.E.E. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2004 and 2007, both from Rice. In 2007, he received the Hershel M. Rich Invention Award from Rice for his work on compressive sensing and the single-pixel camera. He is also co-founder and an editor of Rejecta Mathematica, on online journal that serves as a kind of orphanage for the mathematical sciences. Rejecta Mathematica published its inaugural issue in July 2009, receiving attention in The Economist, Science, Nature, and USA Today.
