Professor Naomi Halas elected as Fellow of the American Physical Society!

Professor Naomi Halas, Stanley C. Moore Professor in ECE, has been elected as a Fellow in the American Physical Society. Naomi was nominated by Laser Science, citation: For the development of new types of nanoparticles with unique optical properties and applications, and groundbreaking studies of molecular modification of scanning probe microscope tip properties.

Each new fellow is elected after careful and competitive review and recommendation by a fellowship committee on the unit level, additional review by the APS Fellowship Committee and final approval by the full APS Council. Only 1/2 of 1% of the total APS membership is selected for Fellowship in the Society each year. This year a total of 190 new fellows are listed below in alphabetical order by last name.
