- The previous release worked under Matlab 5 but not under Matlab 7. (Matlab 7 did not exist and there was no opportunity to test under Matlab 6.) This version works under Matlab 5, 6, and 7, but not 4.
- Error estimates are computed for every polished root and this information is used by uniq() to remove false multiple roots.
- An algorithm has been implemented to try to handle extreme roots; i.e. with magnitude >1e8 or <1e-8.
- Zhonggang Zeng's package, multroot, has been integrated into lroots. Multroot is designed to find high order multiple roots. It is used to try to find extreme roots which are also multiple roots, and also to find multiple roots that are not extreme if the polynomial degree is not too large. However multroot is not used with higher polynomial degree because it is very slow in that situation.
- Numerous small changes; too many to list individually.
