Science Advances, an online open-access scientific journal published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, recently featured an Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) team's paper about Flatscope TM: a miniature lensless microscope that can produce micrometer-resolution, high-frame rate and three-dimensional (3D) fluorescence imaging.
The research paper, written by ECE graduate students Jesse K. Adams, Vivek Boominathan, Benjamin W. Avants, Daniel G. Vercosa, Fan Ye, as well as faculty members Richard G. Baraniuk, Jacob T. Robinson, and Ashok Veeraraghavan, discusses the innovative technology and software that aims to beam sensory information directly to the brain. The revolutionary device could help restore vision and improve sound.
