Goals

As usual, we have a number of goals for this week's exercise.

As befits the title of the exercise, we will study a number of serial signaling protocols, specifically asynchronous serial I/O and I²C.
We will use the asynchronous SIO to provide data and control communication between the MSP430 and the PC.
We will use the I²C protocol to interface additional peripherals to the MSP430.
We will learn to use the printed circuit layout tools we will need to fabricate circuit boards for future exercises and beyond.
