Neural computation (artificial neural networks), machine learning, self-organized learning, manifold learning
Method development in neural machine learning for
- structure discovery in complex, high-dimensional data, visualization
- segmentation and classification, pattern recognition, parameter inference, variable selection
- data fusion, “precision” data mining, knowledge discovery
Application to information extraction from multi- and hyperspectral data/imagery and multi-variate heterogeneous data, for
- planetary surface composition research; kinematics and composition of astronomical objects;
environmental / resource mapping; target detection;
- medical image and data analysis.
